What is Pilates
Pilates is a form of mind-body exercise founded by Joseph Pilates. Mind-body exercise encourages the participant to focus on smaller muscle groups to enhance and tone the entire body. Pilates encourages core strengthening, proper posture, and toning and lengthening of muscles.
Pilates Mat Classes are divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Beginner level classes focus on correct form and accommodating certain body issues.
Early Morning Pilates Classes will focus on core strengthening and stretching to help get your day off to a great start.
PowerBarre Classes incorporate the use of the ballet barre to tone and strengthen while increasing flexibility and balance. Target areas include the arms, legs, thighs and abdominals. This is considered an intermediate level class.
Core Active Pilates Classes focus on conditioning and strengthening, with cardio elements. The use of props such as stability balls, bosu balls, arc barrels and weights enhance the core challenge while improving balance and stability. This is considered an intermediate level class.
Advanced Pilates Classes Come and kick it up a notch in Advanced Pilates and Advanced PowerBarre. We increase in the tempo and flow of the exercises while adding additional elements to the movements. A thorough knowledge of Pilates exercises is required.
